Steadyrackは、CEO兼創業者のDavid Steadmanが、自宅のガレージに車を停める際、家族の自転車がガレージの自分側の地面に置かれたままになっていることに不満を感じていたことから生まれました。

他の多くの家庭と同様、Davidの家族も自転車を持ち上げて壁のフックにかけることができませんでした。

Davidは、"自転車をフックにかけることなく壁にかけられる方法があるはずだ "と繰り返し自問しました。義父のRonとバーベキューをしたとき、彼のフラストレーションを共有してから2週間以内に、非常に粗末な手作りのラックが出来上がりました。

「自転車をフックにかけることなく、壁にかけられる方法があるはずだ」。

ピボットもなく、金属製のフラットマウントで、リアタイヤレストもありませんでしたが、この試作品を皮切りに、DavidとRonは5年間かけて何度も自作を繰り返し、現在特許を取得しているSteadyrackを完成させました。

2009年にSteadyrackは正式に最初のラックを製造、販売することになりました。地元の自転車愛好家であるニック・シマが最初の顧客となり、現在では何十万台もの個人および公共のSteadyrackが設置されるようになりました。
